It is a Hertel Avenue tradition and today the annual Sorrento Cheese Italian Heritage Festival is open for business.
The 2009 edition promises to be bigger than ever before with more vendors and larger crowds expected. Among the attractions at this year's festival is a replica of Mt. Vesuvius, complete with hourly eruptions.
Part of the proceeds from this year's festival will also go to The Italian Earthquake Relief Fund set up after the tragic April 6th earthquake that hit L'Aquila-Abruzzo.
The Italian Festival runs through Sunday. For hours and more information check out the official festival website www.buffaloitalianfestival.com
